Our client’s challenge:

Orion Multisystems, the maker of the world’s first personal supercomputers, needed a website that would be attractive, informative, and user-friendly for potential customers. Orion also needed a protected site for its existing customers. It was important to Orion that its web pages be accessible to users of all platforms (Windows, Macintosh, and Linux). The company sought a unique look, something different than the websites typically displayed by other computer manufacturers—and something that would embrace today’s technology.

The Scott Design solution:

Scott Design developed and designed the Orion websites using a pure CSS/XHTML approach. The entire project was a perfect LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP) execution. Throughout the public site, various quotes and product details were dynamically selected from the MySQL database and randomly displayed on select pages. After logging in to the site, customers can download newly posted product information and access a discussion forum. All of the site’s content and registration details were conveniently managed through a separate backend administrative site.
